What a keratin treatment actually does
If your hair is frizzy, dry or hard to manage day to day, a keratin treatment can make it smoother and easier to live with.
It is not permanent straightening. And it cannot undo damage that is already there — if your hair is breaking or badly over-processed, smoothing it will not repair it, and we would rather tell you that than take the booking.

Whether it will suit you depends on your hair — its condition, its colour history and what you’re actually hoping for. Some hair will take it well. Some hair shouldn’t have it at all. That’s not something anyone can judge from a website, and we’d rather find out before you’ve paid than after.

If the hair-check shows it’s right for you, we book the treatment then and confirm the timing with you. Before we start, we explain what to expect and how to look after your hair afterwards.
How long it lasts
A keratin treatment can last several months, depending on your hair, your washing routine and your home care.
It is not permanent, and it fades rather than stopping. We tell you that plainly before you book, so you know what it can and cannot do.
Price
Your price is confirmed at your free hair-check, once we have seen your hair.
Nothing is added at the till afterwards. If you’ve had this with us before, you can book straight in. If you haven’t, the hair-check comes first and costs you nothing.
Questions people ask
Will it make my hair straight?
It smooths the hair and makes it easier to manage, but it is not permanent straightening. Your hair keeps its own texture.
Will it repair damaged hair?
No. It smooths hair, it doesn’t repair it. If your hair is breaking or badly over-processed we’ll tell you that at the hair-check rather than take the booking.
How long does it last?
Several months, depending on your hair, your washing routine and your home care. It fades gradually rather than stopping.
How much does it cost?
We confirm the price at your free hair-check, once we have seen your hair. One price whatever your length, and nothing added afterwards.
Can I have it if my hair is coloured?
Often yes, but it depends on the condition and the colour history, which is what we look at during the hair-check.
Do I need a hair-check first?
If you haven’t had this with us before, yes. It’s free, takes around thirty minutes, and it’s how we tell you honestly whether it will work on your hair.
Who does the treatment?
Chris Petrov carries out all keratin treatments at the salon.
How long is the appointment?
It’s a longer appointment than a cut or a blow-dry. We confirm the exact timing with you at your hair-check.
Can I book it without coming in first?
If you’ve had a keratin treatment with us before, yes — book directly. If you’re new to us, the free hair-check comes first.

Loret Beauty is at 44 High Street, Romford RM1 1HR. Romford station is served by the Elizabeth line.
