About Lora — Loret Beauty, Romford
Thirty-five years behind the chair in Romford, working with colour, grey blending and hair that has been through too much. Every service starts with an honest look at your hair.
Thirty-Five Years Behind the Chair
Lora has worked in hairdressing for over thirty-five years, most of it in colour. Highlights, grey blending and correction work are where she spends most of her day, and where clients travel to see her.
She trained at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in London and the French Masters Academy, and holds diplomas and certifications across cutting and colour. In 2023 she completed the Advanced Hair Designing Course with Mounir Abonar.
She also holds an MA in Social Psychology and wrote What Your Hair Knows, a book about hair, identity and knowing when not to do more.
How Lora Works
The first thing that happens is a proper look at your hair. Its condition, its colour history, how much regrowth there is, and what it has already been through.
Then you get an honest answer. Some hair can move where you want it to go straight away. Some hair needs a slower plan across more than one appointment. And sometimes the answer is to wait, which Lora will tell you plainly rather than take the booking.
She works to one rule: look at the hair first, say honestly what it can take, and stop when the condition of the hair says not to push further.

Cutting and styling for the hair you actually have, and extensions by enquiry. Ask at your free hair-check and Lora will tell you what is realistic.
She Also Wrote a Book About Hair
What Your Hair Knows is Lora’s book, published in 2026 by Loret Press. It came out of thirty-five years of listening to women describe what they were seeing in their own hair.
It is a book about reading hair honestly — noticing changes in texture, shedding and dullness, understanding what a cut or a colour can realistically change, and looking after hair at home without turning every morning into a project.
It says at length what Lora says in the salon: look at the hair properly first, say plainly what it can take, and decide from there.
